Hallowe’en 2020
Dear Parents,
As we draw to the midterm break there are a few messages we would like to send.
Firstly, a big thank you to all who have helped in getting our school open and running for the first half term. It has been a serious team effort from all; children, parents, staff, Board of Management. We have had great support from everyone. The children have been great.
Again, thanks for all your co-operation and have an enjoyable and safe midterm break.
Yours sincerely,
Dermot Dunphy
Principal

Hallowe'en 2020
As part of the celebration of Hallowe'en 2020, the school has signed up for Trick or Treat for Temple Street. Organised by Ms Horan's Sixth Class, on Friday 23rd October children will be dressing up in their favourite Hallowe'en characters and, added to this, there will be lots of Hallowe'en activities from colouring to quiz to Gaeilge to maths to acrostics! As usual, the classes in the school will be decorated for Hallowe'en and Ms Horan's class will work on the corridor!
All in all, it should be a fun time. However there are sick children who will not be enjoying Hallowe'en in the same way. We are hoping to use this fun time to think of them and to try help sick children by raising some funds for Temple Street Children's Hospital in Dublin. We are suggesting that children who dress up would donate €2 on Friday (to a maximum of €5 per family) and that all funds raised will be forwarded to the Temple Street Children's Health Foundation Trick or Treat campaign.
With the present restrictions children can come to school that morning in their costumes. (In other years children would have brought costumes in and changed in school!)
We are looking forward to having lots of fun next week and hope to have a gallery of photos of the great costumes we will see!
Thank you for your continued support of our activities in school.
