Green Flag No. 4!!!
In early May, our Green Schools’ Committee received our fourth Green Flag on the theme of Travel. Two years of hard work had been rewarded. Led by the committee, the schoolchildren have made a super effort in learning all the methods of coming to school in a green way.
From our first WOW day in May 2013 the effort has been phenomenal, and after highly successful Christmas and St Patrick’s Day WOW events, the children got better and better at coming to school in a green way. Fifth and Sixth Classes completed a cycling course and we were delighted to see bicycles back in our school. With the flag in our possession, we planned a great celebration, so on June 26th, our retired Board Chairperson Canon Dunphy, in the presence of the Chairperson of Kilkenny County Council, invited guests, Board of Management, parents and most importantly the children, raised our fourth flag high! Well done to Ms Teehan, Mrs Brennan and the Green Schools’ Committee past and present on this wonderful achievement.
