Reading Challenge February 2021

Dear Children and Parents,
As we spoke about at our Assembly last week, we are planning a Reading Challenge for next week. We are keeping the challenge nice and easy, what we really hope is that children will do plenty of reading next week.
The children should receive two nice posters per family and a 'My Reading Record' sheet each (sample attached below) in the post on Monday or Tuesday. If you do not receive them, please let me know at 056 8831512 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
The challenge is to read every day. You can read any book of your choice or use the RAZ+ to read. Read the paper, read a magazine, read a comic! We recommend that children try and read for 10-15 minutes a day.
Every day, record your reading onto the 'My Reading Record' sheet and at the end of the week, take a photo of your record and send it to your class teacher by Aladdin Connect or by email. Everyone who completes the challenge will receive a special cert, and classes where 75% of the class complete the challenge will receive a class reward when we return to school!
To make it a little easier to find time to read, each teacher is going to reduce your written work by one item each day next week.
So... Ready... Set.... Read!!!
